Dear Staff & Students
The Faculty of Science would like to extend an invitation to you to attend the National Science Week 2023 Public Lecture, titled: Euclid and Diophantus and their Role in Algebra and Geometry.
This talk is about the Greek mathematicians Euclid (365-265 B.C) and Diophantus (3rd century A.D), who are considered to be the founders of geometry and algebra. Emphasis will be placed on their role in shaping basic geometry and algebra, as covered in high school, and the impact that it had on the development of modern mathematics. The talk will be accessible to high school students and members of the general public.
We look forward to seeing you there!
