The Faculty of Science is calling all final year Natural Science students to enrol at SACNASP. You need to be in your final year of study at Nelson Mandela University. 

The enrolled students will be able to receive specific benefits such as training, development and networking opportunities. Enrolment does not imply that you are registered with SACNASP, but you will have access to SACNASP's networks.

The South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP) is a statutory body, under the guardianship of the Department of Science and Technology, which was established as a juristic person in terms of the Natural Scientific Professions Act 27 (Act 27 of 2003). SACNASP strives to establish, direct, sustain and ensure a high level of professionalism and ethical conduct, that is internationally acceptable and in the broad interest of the community as a whole and the natural sciences.

The core business of the Council is the registration of natural scientists. It also promotes the practice of natural science professions in South Africa, exercise control over the standard of professional conduct of professional natural scientists, monitor the standard of education and training of natural scientists and to recognize education and training which is a prerequisite for registration in terms of the Act.
