Currently in her second year of an MSc in Applied Mathematics, specializing in Biomathematics at Nelson Mandela University, Fundile is focused on her research project, "Mathematical Modelling of Tumour Treatment with Chemotherapy," which she is undertaking under the supervision of Dr Mbava. In addition to her academic pursuits, Fundile has a love for cooking and traveling. She enjoys exploring new cultures and cuisines and is always eager to try new recipes. Before pursuing her postgraduate studies, Fundile worked as a mathematics teacher and head of department at Siphocosini High School in Eswatini, where she also participated in the Science and Mathematics Project. Additionally, she served as an external marker for the Examination Council of Eswatini, further honing her understanding of mathematics. During her time at the 3MC School hosted by North-West University, Fundile collaborated with other mathematicians on a paper on epidemic models, specifically "Epidemic Models: Yellow Fever in Senegal in 2002." This experience allowed her to gain valuable insights into the application of mathematical modelling to real-world problems and the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration. Throughout her academic and professional career, Fundile has been driven by her passion for numbers, which began in high school when she was taught by her inspiring teacher, Mr Kunene. He instilled in her the importance of practice in mastering mathematical concepts, which has been a guiding principle throughout her life. In addition to her academic pursuits, Fundile is actively involved in mathematics tutoring, where she assists students who are struggling with the subject. She is also the current chairperson of the Science Postgraduate Student Forum (SPSF), where she advocates for the needs and interests of postgraduate students. Fundile's unwavering commitment to excellence, her passion for mathematics, and her love for cooking and traveling make her a well-rounded and dynamic individual.
